On a stunningly beautiful afternoon in the waning days of summer, team ISCO hauled an empty bourbon barrel down to a pristine strip of beach in Charlestown RI. There, under the beaming sunshine, we filled the barrel to the brim with a harvest of clean, sparkling Atlantic seawater and brought it back to our distillery to “cure”. Once the barrel reached a perfect amount of salinity, we emptied the seawater and filled the barrel with our four year Bourbon, letting it rest for a number of months in order to “finish” off its already robust flavors with a beautiful woody brine. Now, in honor of our 5 year anniversary, we are releasing this very special, limited edition spirit that we’re calling our Coastal Cask. Pickups begin one week from today at our big anniversary bash! Then, one week from today, come join us to celebrate our five-year voyage at our Anniversary Party on April 24th at the Cocktail Bar from 5-10pm. We’ll have the Blount Food Truck with tasty seafood, a performance by the URI Sea Shanty Social Club, and host a mermaid competition—so dress in your best under the sea ‘fit! And if you don’t have time to put a oceanic lewk together, no worries—let us help adorn you with nautical themed items from the Kraken Couture Station so you’ll be ready for our photo booth, and walk away with a temporary tattoo to commemorate (at least till the week following) this monumental occasion!
